SANReN, TENET and ASAUDIT successfully hosted the second Federated Identity Workshop in Pretoria on the 27th February 2015. This workshop was attended by 18 Universities and 7 science and research institutions. Further details on the outcomes of the workshop can be found at http://www.safire.ac.za/events-and-articles/2015-safire-workshop/
The SANReN Competency area, TENET and ASAUDIT will be hosting a follow-on workshop about Federated Identity Management (FIM). This is a long overdue workshop – the original event that kicked off the Federation project occurred nearly 2 years ago. The focus of this event will be on the strategic direction of the Federation. There are 3 main aims of this workshop:
1. Provide feedback on the work that has been done to date
2. Discuss the structure of the Federation moving forward
3. Get community’s input regarding important decisions that need to be made for the Federation
The logistics for the event are as follows:
Venue: Ruby Auditorium, CSIR International Convention Centre, CSIR, Pretoria
Date: 27th February 2015 (1 day event)
Start Time: 8:30 for 9:00
End Time: 17:00
The workshop is free to attend. However, please confirm with me if you are going to attend by emailing me on smammen(at)csir.co.za. Please feel free to distribute this message to whomever you think needs to attend this event.
The South African Federated Identities for Research and Education (SAFIRE) website is now live.
